This course examines the relationship between hormones and skin health, including the function of the pilosebaceous unit, sebocytes, C. acnes bacteria, porphyrins, the enzyme 5α-reductase type 1, and the influence of stress via the HPA axis.
You will also explore acne grading, key contributing factors and triggers, and how to support more sustainable treatment outcomes through an informed understanding of skin function and appropriate topical interventions aligned with barrier health principles.
